Horsehead Nebula II
Acrylic on Canvas
52 x 40 in.
This nebula to me reminds me of the shadowed strength we all have. One viewer may see this as a cold block of dust covering the hydrogen electrons that when falling back to lower energy levels emit H-alpha light the H-alpha light appears red to pink. For me, I see embodied strength and a birth place for new stars to form.
In this year of the horse (2026) there are clear boundaries that separate this dense region from the well known surrounding home it is in Orion.
Whether radiation destroys star-forming regions or triggers new stars this is a field day for study as the most captured deep space object as it is relatively easy to see through a telescope.
All purchases will be put towards a telescope and supplies to continue to create large works.
