MATERIALS & PROCESS

My work is deeply inspired by the relationship between art, science, light, and transformation. I am fascinated by the STEAM elements behind painting that not only the visual outcome of a piece, but the materials, chemistry, and optical effects that allow an artwork to shift, absorb, reflect, or emit light.
Many of my paintings and ceramic works explore celestial forms, cosmic atmosphere, and emotional transformation through layered surfaces, luminous color, and experimental materials. I often work with deep matte blacks, light-reactive pigments, phosphorescent materials, UV-sensitive elements, metallics, textured mediums, and layered washes to create pieces that feel alive in changing environments.
The “blackest black” qualities in some of my work allow light and color to behave differently across the surface. These dark areas create depth, contrast, and a sense of void or space, while luminous pigments and atmospheric layers bring forward movement, glow, and dimension. I am interested in the tension between absence and illumination. This is why my why my work glows as the way darkness can become a place where light is more fully noticed.
Phosphorescent and UV-reactive materials are especially important in my practice. These pigments interact with light in unique ways, allowing certain works to hold, reflect, or respond to their environment. Some pieces may appear one way in natural daylight and reveal another presence under UV light or in low-light settings. This transformation connects directly to my larger themes of cycles, energy, recovery, and the unseen forces that shape our lives.
For me, these materials are not simply effects. They are part of the meaning of the work. The science behind the paint becomes a metaphor for transformation: absorbing light, holding energy, moving through darkness, and revealing something new over time.
Each original piece is made through an intuitive and experimental process. Layers are built slowly through painting, mark-making, texture, and atmospheric blending. Some works feel like nebulae, lunar surfaces, weather systems, or emotional landscapes. Others lean into abstraction, allowing the viewer to experience the work as a portal, memory, or shifting field of energy.
My goal is to create artwork that holds both wonder and depth. Artwork that can be appreciated visually, emotionally, and scientifically.

SHIPPING & CARE

Original artwork is carefully packaged and prepared for safe delivery. All listed prices include standard shipping and handling within the United States unless otherwise noted.
Please allow up to two weeks for original artwork to be packed and shipped. This timeline allows each piece to be handled with care, properly protected, and prepared for transit. Once shipped, tracking information will be provided when available.
Local pickup or delivery may be available in the Manchester, Concord, and greater New Hampshire area. Please reach out before purchasing if you would prefer to arrange local pickup.
Because many of my works include layered surfaces, texture, specialty pigments, glow elements, or light-reactive materials, each piece should be handled with care. Artwork should be displayed indoors and kept away from prolonged direct sunlight, extreme humidity, or areas where the surface may be scratched or bumped.
For works with glow-in-the-dark, phosphorescent, or UV-reactive qualities, the artwork may shift depending on lighting conditions. Natural daylight, artificial light, UV exposure, and low-light environments may all affect how the piece is experienced. This is part of the intended nature of the work.
To preserve the longevity of your piece:
Keep artwork indoors.
Avoid prolonged direct sunlight.
Avoid high humidity or damp spaces.
Handle the surface as little as possible.
Use clean, dry hands when moving artwork.
Frame or display securely when appropriate.
Each work is created as an original object and may include natural variations in surface, texture, shine, glow, or material response. These qualities are part of the handmade and experimental nature of the piece.
